Footbridge Beach
Footbridge Beach – Just a 10-Minute Walk from Gazebo Inn
One of the most beloved perks of staying at the Gazebo Inn Ogunquit is our year-round proximity to Footbridge Beach — consistently ranked among the Top 10 Beaches in the U.S. for both beauty and serenity.
Located on the quieter north end of Ogunquit Beach, Footbridge offers soft white sand, rolling dunes, and far fewer crowds than its more central counterparts. It’s only a 10-minute walk from our Inn, down a pleasant sidewalk route ideal for a morning stroll or sunset return.
A Beach Preserved in Time
Footbridge Beach has remained beautifully undeveloped thanks to its designation as preservation land in the 1930s. That means:
-
Natural sand dunes remain untouched
-
The Ogunquit River adds a peaceful barrier from the bustle of town
-
The entire stretch of beach stays quiet and tranquil all year
About the Footbridge
The newly rebuilt footbridge (2017) is what gives this beach its name — a charming wooden span that crosses the Ogunquit River and delivers you directly onto the sand. It’s a scenic and symbolic transition from the town to the coast.
Beach Day, Made Easy
While Footbridge Beach has bathrooms and a parking lot, parking does have a fee. We suggest skipping the parking stress and enjoying the walk — with complimentary beach gear from us, including:
-
Backpack beach chairs
-
Coolers on wheels
-
Beach towels
